Tattoos #9

Do you consider tattoos artwork or junk? Do you discriminate against them? I personally thing tattoos are a simple piece of artwork. Most people do not get tattoos to intimidate people or insult them or just get them just because. All of the tattoos I have mean something and have something to do with my life. My boyfriend does tattoos so of course I'm going to be different and into them some might say, but in high school I even wrote a paper about tattoos being artwork not just junk or ink on someones skin like some describe it. People that already have tattoos will tell you they are like a drug, addicting. At first when I heard that I personally thought they were lying, but once I got one I kept going, now I have eleven. After I have the baby I'm of course going to get more, but getting a tattoo while you are pregnant can hurt the baby. My boyfriend makes very good money doing tattoos so it is not like he isn't making money but there are people out there that discriminate people that have them.

Teen Pregnancy #7

Teen pregnancy. What is your views on it? Do you think teenagers will be able to make it through high school or college while pregnant? Do you think they will come back to school after having their baby? When I found out my best friend was pregnant in high school she said she was going to go to college and I believed her but now it is two years later and she still has not gone to college and I really do not think she will ever go back to school to pursue in her dreams because of her baby. She might do it once the child is old enough to be in school herself but I really do not even see that happening. I personally never thought it would happen to me. I found out Tuesday, September 29,2009 that I am five weeks pregnant. Makes you wonder what I am going to do doesn't it? Now, since I have you wondering I do plan on having the baby in June around my due date and keeping it. Then I plan on going to Western Illinois University to finish off my college career. At Western Illinois University they have housing units that my baby, my man and I can live in, which will be very helpful for me and the rest of the family. Once I graduate college I plan on having my own business being a Certified Public Accountant, which is what I have always wanted since I am very well with numbers. While all this is going on I plan on letting my child know that it is very important to have an education to get through life as you need and as financially stable as possible.

Response and Feedback #6

The different kinds of responses and feedback I have gotten are many different types. I have had negative feedback, positive feedback, feedback I was unsure on how to take, verbal feedback, laughter, silence, and no response that I was unsure of what to think about. The feedback that I have had from my teachers/ instructors varied. I had some that were positive and some that were negative, but in the end they were not really negative they were just trying to make me a better writer. I have had friends even give me negative feedback, laughter, silence and of course positive feedback. The friends that gave me the negative feedback were not trying to down grade me they were trying to help me get a better grade in the class over all. Friends can be good for many different things in this case feedback on things you write and your perspective over theirs. With the many different kinds of feedback and responses that I have got it has had a positive, negative and curious effect on me. When people were criticizing me I was wondering what I had did wrong and what I could have changed. When people were praising me I was still thinking there was something in the paper that could have been better but there were also things that were just right or people would not have agreed with the way I wrote it. When I did not get any feedback or responses I was worried that I did something horribly wrong or something horribly right. It sent many different thoughts running through my head, I was confused, aggravated, upset, excited, nervous, and anxious because I was not sure what the audience was thinking.

Letter of Introduction

Easily entertained, easily distracted, loud and obnoxious is how most describe me. I love being with friends, even though they are crazy; my family is wonderful when we aren't fighting; bowling is fun, exciting, and is even better with people you enjoy being around, like the bowling team for example; music is a great deal of my life as well, without music i honestly can say I think I'd be on the eighth floor at Methodist; pen and paper would also have to be an advantage of mine that I take pride in, when I was down and depressed i would write it out like a journal so I'd know which day it was, what I was feeling, and the events that lead to the way I was feeling; hanging out with people I enjoy being around such as friends and family. Hanging out with my friend and family could consist of many different things such as bowling, going out to eat, and having parties for any sort of celebrations. When I was three weeks old I was back in the hospital for a little diagnostic called asthma. I have had asthma ever since and it is not getting any better, it is something I have learned to live, cope, and deal with. It is not very appealing to me. Running and myself does not mix very well; it is like taking a fish out of water, not a good idea! Many visits to the emergency room and hospital for checkups were a daily thing for me when I was younger. It seems like every time you turn around I am making new friends in the Prompt Care center. Numbers strike my love and after getting a CPA, I plan to be an Accountant to fill the number passion that I am dealing with. My parents' screw ups made me become who I am today because I do not want to end up making great mistakes like they have. Many bad experiences in my lifetime, even if I was able to pull through them, made me realize who I am and show my family how much of a turn around I could be.

Gas Prices #5

Most of us in the class are near the same age and I can remember when gas was like $1.25 a gallon. Think back, can you remember seeing any gas prices when you were younger? How much were they? Gas prices lately have been crazy! They have been ranged from $1.25 to $3.00 a gallon in the past year. My mom made a remark last night how one week they will be $2.69 then they jump back down a week later to $2.33. Do the gas companies not know what is really going on or are they trying to test their fellow Americans? Most families can not afford to put gas in their cars for transportation. The last couple time I have been on a bus they have been packed full because it is way cheaper to ride them then buy gas for their cars. At $2.33 a gallon it takes my mom $40.. to fill her tank, which lasts three to five days. A bus pass is $25 a month. Think about it. Buses are way cheaper. A lot of people pay a lot more than $40 a gallon to fill up their tanks. They should decide on a gas price and lower it, or raise it ONLY as needed.

Audience #4

I have written a bunch of papers for teachers, friends, family, colleges, myself, and scholarships. The different effects the audiences have had on my writing were how many people I had proof read my papers and how hard I worked to organize the papers. It had many different effects feelings wise because with teachers I was worried about my grade, with friend and family I was normally expressing my feelings, colleges and scholarships I was worried if I did the best to my ability, I was also very stressed out because it was something that my future could possibly depend on. I also expressed my feelings to myself in journals. My audience had many different effects on the way I wrote because I normally was worried about how I did and was very stressed trying to make sure I did my very best and did not make any grammar errors or spelling errors or anything that would not help me achieve my goal. It sometimes took me hours to write a one page paper depending on the audience. My friends always helped me out because they helped me revise a lot of my papers and so did plenty of my other teachers. I find myself as the only audience a lot because that is how I express my feelings when I just plain out right need someone to talk to or something to take my anger out on besides getting in trouble by doing it.

Entry #3 ICC's Smoking Ban

There should be a designated area for the smokers, but I understand that there are people who can not stand the cigarette smoke and do not like to be around it. I believe this because that way it is not that much of a walk to smoke, the weather, and other classes. Personally I believe that it is beyond ridiculous that we have to walk across the bridge to smoke. That is a long walk when you have your next class in ten minutes. The weather could be have an effect too because it could be raining or snowing or something along them lines and some people don’t like getting wet or whatever the case may be. There should be a spot where people can go to smoke like a part that is covered but also a part that is in the open for when it is nice outside. With the rain and the snow people could get sick easier and miss more class if they keep the smoking ban effective. As far as the other classes, like I stated before, people do have to be in their next class, most of the time, in ten minutes. So why have it to where they have to walk all the way out just to get their nicotine fix and then walk all the way to their class. That is a little more than ridiculous. Granted it would not hurt some people to get that exercise but some may not feel up for it that day. Nicotine is a drug, most people I know need it to function properly, by not having it they may be thinking about that cigarette they need instead of actually having their head on straight and listening to their instructor.
