Tattoos #9

Do you consider tattoos artwork or junk? Do you discriminate against them? I personally thing tattoos are a simple piece of artwork. Most people do not get tattoos to intimidate people or insult them or just get them just because. All of the tattoos I have mean something and have something to do with my life. My boyfriend does tattoos so of course I'm going to be different and into them some might say, but in high school I even wrote a paper about tattoos being artwork not just junk or ink on someones skin like some describe it. People that already have tattoos will tell you they are like a drug, addicting. At first when I heard that I personally thought they were lying, but once I got one I kept going, now I have eleven. After I have the baby I'm of course going to get more, but getting a tattoo while you are pregnant can hurt the baby. My boyfriend makes very good money doing tattoos so it is not like he isn't making money but there are people out there that discriminate people that have them.

  2. i love tattoos, i have 4 myself. All of mine are in spots that can be covered up. I think tattoos are peices of art work, and no one should judge you based on them. No one knows everyone elses life story or how they look at life. So why judge someone who gets a meaningfull tattoo for themselves.

  3. I think of tatoos as art as well. I think that it expresses you in your own way. Sometimes people get tatoos to represent a passing of someone they loved. I do not think it is right to judge one on their own beliefs. It's personal beliefs that express ones thoughts or creativeness. It is not junk, it is art and passion. If you believe in yourself and a tatoo is going to make you happy then go for it and don't let anyone stop you. Some get them for closer, to have that last step of greif come out. It's own personal likings.

  4. Of course, I love the art of tattoos as well. I got my first one when I was about 24, and it had very personal significance.

This is a generational issue. My mom HATES my tattoos because in her generation only sailors and sleaze-bags got them. So, that might be part of the discrimination.
